The Portent is a luminous device that is designed as a cube with fractured surfaces. It radiates ambient violet light through the slight gaps on edges and cracks on each face. The entire design was inspired by the form that is about to be exploded by unknown force. This unusual light device will deliver unique mood to your space.
The cube-shaped body includes two layered walls and white light is transmitted through an inner translucent violet layer and blocked by the black outer cover. The light source is placed inside of the cube and operated with connecting to Bluetooth.
Prototype
In order to install light source, the prototype was designed with additional base underneath the cracked cube. The main body and fracture details were manufactured by using translucent colored acrylic panels and applying laser cut method.
