As a team project, this work was conducted in order to participate in the PAVE Student Design Challenge at Global Shop 2020, which was organized bythe Toronto based manufacturer “Visua Elements”. The main goal of this challenge was to design a new pop up shop for world renowned designer brand “Michael Kors”.

 Based on the brand’s season concept “Jet Set Go”, all the involved teamswere required to construct the limited space and decorate it with appealing displayof handbags, small leather goods, and travel luggage. Also, the shop shoulddeliver a clear concept with integrating Michael Kors brand elements, such aslogo, colors, or patterns.

 Our team selected a concept called "Jet Set Flow" that provides a structure that depicts speed, optimism and energy through materials and form. The clean streamlined structure including circular plates with several metal columns createan open and light environment while still allowing the customer to feel encapsulatedby the space.


Dimensions

 The size of the shop is organized with targeting an average woman who is the main customer. Also, due to the international transportation issue, the structure is designed to be easily disassembled into small components.



Branding

 The prominent presence of branding throughout the design informs the viewer about the product from a far but also draws one in closer through an implied visual language.


Display

 The slick material of the shelf and its finish draw the eye of the viewer to the product and its details. Three pillar display assemblies functions as both structural support and display shelves. Also, the central display with two chrome mirrors appeals to customers and shows main items without compromising the symmetrical form of the space.


Lighting

 The ceiling lights provide an overall glow to the booth while the smaller shelf lights bring the products to life. Each shelf has an additional small light hole so that it conveys dim light to the product below properly.


Environment

 The stacked form of our booth balances the product environment with a feeling of freedom, creating an effortless shopping experience.
